HPS provide fair wage increases

Pharmacists at HPS are passionate about their work and the services they provide to our community.

We know how important pharmacy is to the health of our community and they take our responsibility seriously. They strive every day to do a better job because they know the public is counting on them.

Pharmacists are concerned that HPS is too focused on profits, resulting in below market pay rates. This corporate decision has the effect of reducing their ability to do their job to the highest standard due to worker concerns about the increasing burden of the cost of living.

Work intensification resulting in higher workloads, inadequate career paths and recognition of skills, knowledge and experience, and high staff turnover are having an impact on patients, and pharmacists, professionally and personally.

Wages have gone backwards in real terms over the past few years, and pharmacists are struggling to make ends meet. The current wage offer of 3% per annum falls well short of what is needed to address their concerns and attract and retain quality pharmacists.

Pharmacists want HPS to grow into the best pharmacy provider in the country, providing services to the highest standard which is why they will not sit idly by any longer.

Pharmacists call on HPS to provide fair wage increases that will make a real difference in their pay packet and lives.

Why is this important?

We, the undersigned, commit to support HPS Pharmacists to pursue a fair wage increase and help create a better HPS.
