To: The Hon Bill Shorten MP, Leader of the Opposition
Bill Shorten, reconsider your position on the China trade deal
In order to protect Australian jobs, safety standards and national sovereignty, we call on Mr Shorten and the Australian Labor Party to urgently commit to:
1) Requiring Labour Market Testing for all classes of overseas workers in all trade agreements and skilled migration visa classes;
2) Requiring Mandatory Skills Assessment for all licenced trades and occupations regardless of country of origin;
3) Removing Investment Facilitation Arrangements (IFAs); and
4) No Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) Provisions in any future trade agreements.

Why is this important?
The deal that was done on ChAFTA is inadequate. This agreement is a threat to Australian jobs, safety and sovereignty.
Without giving effect to these commitments, CHAFTA and any future agreement will seriously undermine Australia’s national interest.
