Stop limiting our free speech!
This campaign has ended.
The new social media policy for Department of Communities staff is ambiguous, harsh and unfair.
It effectively polices staff thought inside and outside of the office and would allow managers to bully and harass staff for perceived slights online.
It would waste our time, contribute to a toxic culture and scare away good staff.
Don't try to fight free speech - throw the new policy away!

Why is this important?
The new social media policy is draconian and unfair.
It would allow managers to fire and discipline staff they don't like, just for perceived crimes online.
Some of these crimes would be as miniscule as liking a comment or graphic online.
Public servants have a right to free speech too.
We demand transparency and that the new social media policy is discarded.
