Staff Cuts? Students Say No!
We call on JCU's Council and management to withdraw proposals for staff cuts at JCU to ensure that our experience at JCU gets better, not worse. We want to JCU Chancellory to put students at the heart of the University.
Why is this important?
We are concerned that current JCU management proposals for staff cuts will impact on us because:
- We will lose excellent teachers and researchers
- We can't see a plan for our learning if the lecturers must leave in the middle of the semester or while supervising research students
- The range of subjects and course majors available to us will decline
- More of our lectures will only be available to us online, which students are paying for
- Face to face talking with academics about our studies will be more difficult
