Right now casual and trainee bus drivers get less superannuation than permanent BCC employees, this is not fair. The Queensland Government needs to update the law to give ALL bus operators access to the same co-contribution arrangements and superannuation rates that permanent employees get.
Brisbane City Council Casual and Trainee Bus Drivers are NOT temporary or seasonal. They are employed on an ongoing basis and they are entitled to the same super arrangements as other long-term employees.
Why is this important?
Casual and trainee bus drivers are some of the lowest-paid Council employees and the current superannuation arrangements mean they get less retirement savings than others. They work just as hard as permanent employees and they deserve the same superannuation rates.
