One Agreement for RMIT staff
RMIT professional staff, academics, and vocational education teachers are currently covered by the following two different enterprise agreements:
1. RMIT University Enterprise Agreement 2018; or
2. RMIT Vocational Education Workplace Agreement 2019.
1. RMIT University Enterprise Agreement 2018; or
2. RMIT Vocational Education Workplace Agreement 2019.
Why is this important?
We call on RMIT management to negotiate a single agreement to replace these two. We all work in the same project: delivering high quality education and research to our students and ensuring all the infrastructure needed to make that happen. We deserve common core conditions like superannuation, leave and redundancy rights, not to have different entitlements based on which part of the picture we fit into.
The National Tertiary Education Union is negotiating for a new single agreement to cover us all, but management have insisted on two separate negotiation tables for two new separate agreements. This is not good enough. We want and deserve a single agreement.
