No worker left behind - Fair entitlements for all workers
When businesses collapse, Australian workers have a safety net. Migrant workers don’t.
Right now, temporary visa holders are locked out of the Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG)—the government scheme that ensures workers get their unpaid wages, redundancy, and leave entitlements when employers go bust.
🚨 This isn’t just unfair—it’s exploitation. Shady employers game the system, shutting down businesses to dodge paying workers. The result? Migrant workers lose everything.
We demand the Australian Government take action:
1️⃣ Extend FEG to all workers—no exceptions.
2️⃣ Include unpaid superannuation in the scheme.
3️⃣ Close the loopholes that let dodgy bosses walk away.
4️⃣ Guarantee workers can recover wages and entitlements, even if their employer disappears.
Why is this important?
Temporary migrant workers are not eligible for the Fair Entitlements Guarantee.
This exclusion creates a two-tier workforce, where migrant workers are left with nothing while others are protected. It rewards dodgy employers who exploit migrant labour, shut down their businesses, and walk away without paying what’s owed.
