Reservoir East Primary School is a vibrant, multicultural community led by an outstanding and dedicated team of teachers and staff but our school is old and falling down.
We love our school but our classrooms are unsafe! They’re falling down because of damage from flooding, weather and old age. Our kids can’t learn while the buildings are falling down around them!
Please take a minute to tell James Merlino and the Andrews Government to allocate funding to Reservoir East Primary School in the 2018 State Budget so that we can fix our classrooms.
Why is this important?
Our school is vibrant and diverse. Our kids come from so many different backgrounds - over 50% speak a language other than English at home and around 8% are Aboriginal. The majority of our kids come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds but they deserve excellent classrooms and playgrounds as much as kids who are lucky enough to live in more affluent circumstances.
It’s not fair that our kids have to learn in classrooms that leak when it rains, are hot in summer and freezing in winter, and which are falling apart. Other schools in neighbouring suburbs have received millions of dollars to fix and rebuild classrooms but Reservoir East Primary keeps missing out.
All kids, including ours, deserve a safe and healthy school to learn, play and thrive in. Help us fix Reservoir East Primary!
