Don't let Parramatta Council cut your representation!
City of Parramatta Council is actively working to reduce USU Representation on an important Consultative forum. The executive must not finalise these cuts to union representation!
Why is this important?
At the June meeting of Council's Staff Consultative Committee meeting (the Award protected staff and management forum where important issues affecting workers such as workplace change, policy implementation, job redesign and training are discussed) a proposed change was endorsed to reduce the number of USU Representatives on the Committee.
All USU Delegates and several other staff representatives voted against or abstained on the changes. However, management representatives, People and Culture and some others votes to endorse reducing the USU's voice at this important forum.
Removing our professional, trained and supportive representatives from this forum will disadvantage all council workers, and add to the workloads of our USU Delegates.
We ask all staff to urgently add their voice to this petition pushing Council's leadership to not approve the new Consultative Committee Constitution that would reduce our voice and ability to represent workers.
