ACL- stop offshoring jobs
Customer service workers around Australia have performed confidential work for Australian Clinical Labs for decades. Patients, workers and the community are outraged that ACL has offshored these critical jobs without any thought for the service they provide.
Without notice or consultation, ACL has remorselessly sent these jobs overseas to cut costs, sacrificing the privacy of Australian patients to keep massive medicare funding as profit.

These customer service workers handle very sensitive medical records for all kinds of patients across Australia. How can anyone be sure that this information is being kept secure? Will ACL follow the same standards expected of companies operating in Australia?
There has been some limited data entry work contracted overseas already. Mistakes with life-threatening consequences happen all the time. These mistakes are only caught because of the dedicated staff in Australia that you are now discarding. If they can't get the basics right, how can they be trusted to deal with more complicated and confidential information?
It is irresponsible to offshore such sensitive work to merely reduce costs. Staff and patients must come before profits!
As the CEO, you have a responsibility to Australian patients. Call centres must remain in Australia. I am calling on you to return these jobs to Australia.
Why is this important?
ACL is offshoring its call centre to Malaysia in order to reduce costs.
Patients deserve better. They deserve to know that their information is secure, that their personal details and medical information remain private.
Workers deserve better. A company funded by Australian tax-payer dollars should ensure jobs remain in Australia.
We also deserve better. ACL needs to put patients before profit.
